This photo didn't end up at all like I had planned, sometimes thats just the way things pan out. Nevertheless, I am still happy with the way this shot came out.
My original idea was to snoot my flash so it only lit up his eyes and have the rest of his face and body blacked out. It was an idea I got from a photo I shot a few years back where I did that by accident and remembered how cool it looked...

Before 2015 ended, Fstoppers posted the 52 Week Photo Challenge which stood out to me more than other photo challenges I've seen. I've seen a bunch of 365 photo challenges but there's no guidelines or rules for them, you kind of just shoot one photo a day for a year and thats it. Shooting one photo a week seemed more realistic to do and by having a theme for each week, I would be forced into trying something new every time. Casey Neistat started daily vlogging so that he would have an excuse to make a new movie every day and he says it motivated and improved himself as a filmmaker so I'm hoping this could be a similar aid for myself...

Whilst on my most recent trip to Los Angeles, I got to catch up with old friends from all over the world, attend the Blading Cup , ride hoverboards on the beach, shoot a super short film, and eat amazing but expensive food. After going to Japan a few years back and regretfully didn't bring my camera, I made it a point to always bring my camera out with me where ever I travel. This post is mostly a select few photos I shot on this trip...

I recently posted a video on an idea that I had for businesses to advertise via videos on Instagram. The first video was fun to shoot but it was all hand held footage running through the city. I wanted to give it a shot with a little more production value...

About 7 or 8 years ago I went on tour for Able Frames around the west coast of America in a van where we didn't really have a solid route and the next stop was always up in the air. Throughout that tour, we stumbled upon the Colorado Road Trip. A weekend of camping and skate parks with people from all over the west coast. Since then, I've always wanted to go back but due to work and lack of funds it was never possible until this year when I finally made it a point to make myself available to join the trip.

I am introducing a new category to the blog with stories about the photos I feature in my portfolio and how they were shot. This is called "From The Front Page".
In the beginning of 2014, I took an epic trip to Puerto Rico to escape the winter in NYC. The first week was filled with skating throughout the tropical paradise with 13 or my buddies from all over the world. The second week, my girlfriend flew in and we went on a bunch of adventures together every day. We all over the island together, and this was the week I actually took my camera out with me every day...

A few years ago, the boys and I took a trip to Baltimore where we found this school that had this purple wall (Francos favorite color) with a square rail that went right into a fence. Anyone who knows Franco knows that the fence didn't stand a chance against him. So he did this rough X grind a few times for a photo that was never used in anything....until now.

I don't know if I have an all time favorite photographer but Vincent Laforet has been a huge influence on me. One aspect of his work that I go crazy over is his aerial photography, its simply unmatched compared to anyone else's aerial images. After seeing all of Vincent's work, I've always wanted to go shoot from a helicopter and after following certain accounts on instagram over the years, I've had the urge to fly over the buildings in NYC. 2015 is the year for me to do as many new things and go to as many new places as possible, s

It seems like nowadays between music, technology, fashion, sports, it seems like everything has been done. Its 2015 now, and everyone wants a way to stand out; individuality is of the essence.
A buddy of mine, Justin, runs a sunglasses company out of NorCal. The beauty of the sunglasses though are that they are fully customizable from the style of the frame, to the lenses, to the arms. There are thousands of ways to create your own personal pair of sunnies that no one else in the world will have.

A little over a year ago, Skatelife.tv put out an article about me on what was probably my proudest piece of work in skating. It was something that has never been done before, and something that Shawn Engler (Of Skatelife) and myself have had on our minds for a while; A skate article of myself, by myself. The idea was simple, I skate, I shoot the photos with a wireless trigger. I explain more about it in the actual article, but it was a challenge I was anxious to tackle.
Here are a couple of B-Roll photos that didn't make the cut:
