I recently posted a video on an idea that I had for businesses to advertise via videos on Instagram. The first video was fun to shoot but it was all hand held footage running through the city. I wanted to give it a shot with a little more production value.
This was a relatively short shoot despite my DJI Phantom 3 not wanting to calibrate. Except for the last shot, this whole video was done with my Canon 6D. My goal here was to push lifestyle more than anything else and I love shooting cars so this was particularly fun for me.
When we arrived at the spot, there was already a couple of guys filming each other doing wheelies back and forth on their motorcycles with a drone. It was funny because that was the main reason I chose that location, it seems to be popular for that. After watching them go back and forth about a dozen times, they finally crashed their drone pretty badly. Parts of it went flying over a fence and they had to get someone from inside to help them retrieve it. Turns out the two guys didn't even know each other. They just met on the road and one asked the other if he wanted to shoot some wheelies for a few minutes. Pretty random, yet entertaining to watch.
I feel this is a really easy and effective way of promoting a business. This whole video from start to finishing the final product you see here could easily be done within hours, so the turn around time is quick. Its the future. Since I posted the last video I shot, Instagram reached 400 Million users. Thats a huge potential audience to see your sweet ads!
