I'm taking a break from the air and am back on the ground now for this weeks photo of the week. I took advantage of a brief hour or so that I had to wander around downtown and almost forgot how much there is to photograph in this little area. Usually, photos are taken inside of the Oculus but it looks nearly as cool from the outside.
The easy part about shooting in New York City at night is that there is always light or a light source of some sort. You don't necessarily need to carry around a flash or anything to get great night photos over here. This could be one of the brightest light sources in New York. I was at ISO 8,000 but that was mostly to compensate for a quicker shutter since I knew I was trying to capture the speed of a New Yorker rushing home after a long day of 9-5ing. After a few tries, I managed to get someone front row center who it looks like was actually looking at me taking her photo. I'm glad I got a new perspective on the Oculus in Downtown Manhattan.
