One day while wandering around downtown, my friend and I noticed a hotel with a rooftop bar right across the street from the World Trade Center memorial. It seemed pretty high up there but at the time we weren't able to get up there for whatever reason.
A week or so later we decided to try to get up there with a few more people. We found the hotel and were able to get to bar/restaurant that overlooked the memorial. It was about 25 floors up which is usually plenty high for a rooftop view but in this area of downtown Manhattan, it barely seemed like we any more elevated than just being on the ground. It was still cool to be up there but in photos, it almost looks like we're still on the street. Luckily we caught a bit of sunset before we had to leave the restaurant since we weren't eating there and we probably shouldn't have been there in the first place.
