I have so many favorite photos from my trip to the U.A.E. a few weeks ago, that can't help but keep sharing! This one is actually brought to you from the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. There's no other way to put it....this place is EPIC!
I highly regretted missing out on the opportunity to go here a couple of years ago when I visited, so I had to make sure we hit it this time around. I have a few other great shots from this place that I'll include in my blog when I finish it but this is one of my favorites.
Like any other touristy place, this mosque is packed with people and its hard to get great or even epic photos. I found myself waiting in certain places for a few minutes for the split second where there was no one in my shot. Times like this were worth the wait. As you can see, there's no ground in this image and one reason was to get the top arch in the frame but another reason was to cut out all the people. When you look at the photo at first, you don't even really notice that the bottom half is missing since there's so much other visual enjoyment going on which distracts you. I've learned from travel photography that you have to deal with the situation and that's exactly what I did for this.
