I just got back from Cuba and I have an amazing collection of photos and I will do a blog or two on just the trip alone but in the meantime, I have to do a Photo Of The Week.
I called this photo "Jorge" not because I asked him his name but because for some reason almost everyone we ran into and every cab driver we had was named Jorge so I thought that more likely than not, this was his name also. While walking through Habana Vieja, we stopped for lunch at a small outside restaurant. This man was sitting behind me in the blazing hot sun but he was doing that because he knew what he was doing. He knows that his red bandana contrasts amazingly with the blue painted door behind him and his wrinkly face would make any tourist want a photo of him. While I was eating, I took this portrait of him in exchange for half a ham and cheese sandwich. I couldn't ask him anything or have a conversation because I don't speak Spanish but I did understand that he wanted a Coke to wash down his sandwich with.
