One of the most fun things in blading is finding random things and making something out of nothing. I feel like I don't see it that much now, but back in the day, it was a lot more common. When I started skating, we used to always check out local construction sites and find wood, signs, poles, crates, pretty much whatever we could find and build something out of it. Looking back at this photo reminds me of a simpler time.
This image is from May of 2007, so it just passed the 10yr mark, and it was taken at Rutgers College campus in New Brunswick, New Jersey. There were well known local rails that you might remember from some older videos, including The Truth, that went down for about 4 stairs then a long straight with grass and bushes on either side. We somehow made our way over and conveniently came across a bunch of fresh plywood. Before we ended up putting a bike rack at the top of the stairs, Stokley was lacing a few nice airs over this cone thingy.
